Hamtramck Community Initiative -
"Weed and Seed"
A team of community leaders and residents has submitted a
request to the U.S. Department of Justice for funding
from the "Weed and Seed" grant program. This
program provides money and support for efforts to remove
(weed out) bad influences from a community and help
support (seed in) positive influences instead. This effort is known as the
Hamtramck Community Initiative. It has four subgroups
that meet regularly to help plan for the health of the
Hamtramck community. There are also general steering
committee meetings (see below). All residents are invited
to attend subgroup and steering committee meetings. Here
are the dates and locations of upcoming meetings:
